Bob Jones Memorial Fund
Bob Jones was the Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands. He was a keen member and supporter of the Talyllyn Railway, and enjoyed spending his annual family holidays in Llwyngwril.
His family are all members of the railway and his granddaughter Emma started working as a volunteer in the engineering department last year.
Very sadly, Bob Jones passed away unexpectedly on 1 July 2014. Bob’s family has asked for a fund to be opened, so that anyone wishing to make a donation in Bob’s memory can support the Talyllyn Railway.
"We were very sad to learn of the passing of Bob Jones. As a keen supporter of the Talyllyn Railway our condolences go to Bob’s family, many of whom are also members of the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society and are in our thoughts at this sad time.
We are very honoured that Bob’s family have chosen to support the Railway in this way and we are sure the continued support of the Railway through donations is a fitting tribute to Bob.” Jane Garvey, TRPS Chairman.
"Donations really do make a difference on the Talyllyn Railway and those received in Bob’s memory will be put to good use in supporting the Railway that he, and thousands of others each year enjoy for generations to come." Chris Price, Talyllyn Railway General Manager.
