1950 'Last Train' Re-enactment
To conclude a year of celebrations for the 60th Anniversary of our preservation we are recreating the last train of the pre-preservation era. A short train formed of No.2 Dolgoch, carriage No1 and the guards van No.5 will run to the 1950 timetable below. There are only 18 seats available. As in 1950 the train will be shunted at Abergynolwyn to move the guards van to the rear of the train. This was originally done to allow a film to be shot out of the rear of the van, as it was then thought to be the last ever train to run.
We launched our 60th year with a re-run of the 1950s last train for invited guests using all of the original carriages and locomotive No1 (as No.2 was away for a rebuild). We thought the end of our 60th year and the return to steam of No.2 was a perfect opportunity to run a more faithful recreation.
Seats are now available for £20. Please email enquiries [at] talyllyn [dot] co [dot] uk to book, or call 01654 710472.
