The turntable has been installed to provide access to the new "Heritage Siding" - it had to be taken to pieces, the six rollers made to work again, a new centre pin installed, and then all put in place, final lift taking place in in a hail storm using the light from the bobcat. The fire had to be dropped and the boiler emptied to allow the valve to be removed; it was fairly quickly rectified, but the boiler then had to be refilled with cold water and the fire relit. The other steam engines worked earlier turns than rostered and diesel No. 8 worked the empty coaches for the 1245 and the passenger train as far as Pendre. After the success of Jubilee Festival Week in 2001 it was time for another gala; to get the event off the ground took well over 12 months of planning.
