Administration Assistant

The Talyllyn Railway Company has a vacancy for an Administration Assistant.

This is a full time position based at Tywyn Wharf station. The role will provide administration and accounting support to the railway's operation. This new role will require someone with relevant accounts experience in a computerised environment and good all round administration, organisation and PC skills. The successful applicant will be able to work on their own initiative to maintain day-to-day accounting procedures being implemented by the Company Accountant whilst working closely with the General Manager in an administrative capacity.

The role will have two primary areas of focus:

  • Working under the direction of the Company Accountant in maintaining the new computerised accounting systems, involving significant day-to-day processing on Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Cash Book and other transactions, general filing, queries, payments and organisation.
  • Working under the direction of the General Manager, the incumbent will undertake a wide variety of general administrative tasks relating to the day-to-day operation of the railway and its related activities, the facilities it has, and other general support duties.
The Talyllyn Railway is a preserved narrow-gauge, steam-hauled heritage railway operating with a combined team of paid staff and volunteers

Terms: Standard 38 hour week, Monday to Friday; 9:30 - 5:30; 22 days holiday plus 8 statutory holidays; Non-contributory pension scheme. Salary dependant upon experience.
