1950's headboard

The picture shows No. 2 at Wharf on 5th May. The Headboard is thought to have adorned the front of some of the TRPS AGM specials of the 1950s. It was acquired as part of a job lot by the 009 Society and offered for sale to the NGRM. The full cost was then covered by a gift aid donation from David Burleigh, chairman 009 Society, and was collected for us by Janet and Ian Alger, who delivered it to Tywyn on 5th May. After being photographed on the front of loco No 2 it is now on display in the Recent Acquisitions show case in the museum.

Thank you to Don Newing for the article and picture.
