Phil Guest Memorial TrainOn Saturday 19th July 2008 a memorial train was run for Phil Guest, a long standing loco department volunteer who sadly passed away recently. Before the train there was a service in St.Cadfans conducted by Nigel Adams and Rev. Vroom, with Bob Hey playing the organ. The train was double headed with a headboard made by TR volunteer Dale Coton.
Phil's train was crewed by Bill Tyndall, Keith Foster, Noel Williams, James Foster and guard Gordon Rhodes.
A better look at the headboard
Around 50 TR volunteers plus members of Phil's family and friends from his teaching days came along. There was a small buffet at Abergynolwyn for those who attended. Thanks to all who were involved for arranging the train, providing the wine and catering the buffet. Thank you to Bill Tyndall and David Mitchell for the photographs. |
