Projects at Pendre Part 2: Carriages

Meanwhile in the Paint Shop work is progressing on saloon 20 and brake van 10... More photos from Paul Knapton.

20 is seen here following rubbing down of some of the paintwork and internal stripping of the saloon area.

10 is having major work carried out on the underframe, and has had the body lifted from the frames by around two inches.

The lack of panels can lead to some unusual views into the guard's area.

As a safety precaution when brakes or other safety critical systems are isolated/removed from a vehicle, an indication of this is given on the end of the vehicle. This can be seen in extreme form on the end of carriage 10.
