On 27th September (also the TR's AGM day), the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) is organising 'Railways on the Air' (ROTA) linking up 21 railways world-wide (so far) to celebrate the anniversary of the "world's first permanent steam locomotive hauled public railway" -

The TR will be taking part and an Amateur Radio transceiving radio station will be operating behind Llechfan (on the patio) from 10h00 to c. 15h00 / 16h00 for the day.
All visitors, members and volunteers are most welcome to come and have a
listen in. The opportunity exists for short messages to be transmitted under licensed supervision (which will be present) between ourselves and
the other railways via. radio.
