News from Pendre - 14 March 2010

No 4 Edward Thomas has been temporarily turned round for a photographic photo charter. The engine was very carefully pushed onto the temporary turntable, balanced perfectly then turned around, then dragged off. The air pump and running plates were removed as well.
No 3 Sir Haydn was having problems with the airpump, so No 9 Alf was put on the front of the afternoon train to provide air for the air brakes. We don't often use diesels on passenger trains so it was a train with a difference for the passengers and a chance to take some unusual photos.
Other news - congratulations to Dave Scotson and Martin Turner who from April 1 will become the Talyllyn Railway's Chief Executive and Chief Engineer respectively. Congratulations to both of them and we wish them well in their new roles.
