Walls, domes and waggon trains...
Work on the Great Wall of Pendre continued this weekend with a hardy working party digging and concreting. The tasks this weekend were to put ballast behind the wall, fill up the breezeblock holes with concrete and dig up more rubbish. The gang worked very hard despite the rain on Saturday. Eventually the wall will reach all the way to the West Carriage Shed and an extra road will be put in for storage.
No 3 Sir Haydn had the dome removed to see why the regulator is so stiff, but nothing was found and she’ll be back in service soon.
Congratulations to the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum on gaining Museum, Libraries and Archive Accreditation. On Sunday there was a special train to celebrate the occasion consisting of the original carriages, a couple of slate waggons and loco No 1 Talyllyn. More to follow on that soon.
