A new special issue stamp sheet and cover will be issued on 19th July 2004 to celebrate celebrate loco No. 6's 50 years on the Talyllyn Railway. Stamp and sheet were designed by Neill Oakley from a photograph by John Adams.

Other Recent Special Issues

• A special issue stamp sheet was issued on 13th January 2004 to co-incide with the 20p Royal Mail stamp of loco No. 2 issued in their Classic Locomotives issue. The Railway Letter stamp and sheet were designed by Neill Oakley from a photograph by W Camwell in David Mitchell's collection.
• A special issue stamp sheet was issued in June 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Coronation - an overprint in gold of the sheet issued to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
• A series of five sheets of stamps, commemorating 50 years of the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society, was issued in 2000-2001. Each sheet represents one decade of Society operation:
  • The 1950s
  • The 1960s
  • The 1970s
  • The 1980s
  • The 1990s
  • The five sheets have also been issued as a stamp book.
• 1998 special issue celebrating the life of Rev. W.V. Awdry.
• 1997 special issue celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Talyllyn Railway Letter Service.
• 1996 special issue commemorating the 150th anniversary of the start of slate quarrying at Bryn Eglwys.
