2009 Santa Specials
December 19th, 20th and 24th

Your journey starts at our terminal station at Tywyn Wharf. There is a convenient free car park over the bridge off Neptune Road.
Reserved seats will be waiting for you on our steam locomotive hauled Santa Special to "Plas Nadolig".
Each child will meet Santa and receive a present suitable for their age. There is time for photographs with Santa in the idyllic setting of "Plas Nadolig".
The steam train will then return you to Tywyn Wharf where a seasonal treat awaits. The spacious new café will offer a range of complimentary seasonal refreshments.
The whole Santa Experience will take just over three hours.
Two Santa Specials will run on each day at 10.45am and 1.00pm. On December 24th there will be an additional train at 3.15pm. Unchanged since 2008, the fares are: Adults £15.00 Children £10.00 (Children aged between 0 and 12 get a present from Santa). See below for booking.
Carol Train
Saturday December 19th
This special train leaves Tywyn Wharf Station at 7pm, and runs to Abergynolwyn, where the Band will entertain you with a selection of Christmas Carols for you to join in.
Refreshments will be available, before your atmospheric return trip to Tywyn, which will leave Abergynolwyn at 9.15pm.

Spirit of Christmas
Extra Service - Wednesday December 23rd

Increasing popularity of the Spirit of Christmas train has resulted in there being just 4 seats available for booking on the 24th December. Due to this high level of demand, we will be offering an extra Spirit of Christmas train on Wednesday, 23rd December, leaving Tywyn Wharf at 12.20pm. Please book now to avoid disappointment. Please see information at the bottom of the page concerning the postal strike.

The train will start from Tywyn Wharf at 12.20pm, stopping at Abergynolwyn for a buffet lunch. Unchanged since 2008, the fares are: Adults £15.00 Children £8.00. Please note that the Spirit of Christmas does not include a visit to Santa.

Mince Pie Specials
December 26th - January 2nd
Enjoy an atmospheric round trip, and view the beauty of the winter countryside from the comfort of your heated carriage, complete with festive decorations.
The trains are hauled by coal-fired steam locomotives along this historic and scenic railway. The Talyllyn was the first narrow gauge line to be built for steam haulage, and subsequently became the first preserved railway in the world.
Seasonal light refreshments are included.

Postal Strike:
Due to the ongoing postal strike, telephone bookings as well as postal and e-mail bookings are now being taken for Santa Specials and Spirit of Christmas trains. Ticket requests will be acknowledged by a receipt sent to you either via post or e-mail. Please bring this receipt with you on the day of travel and present it at the Booking Office in exchange for your tickets.
