2012 Scenic Talyllyn Railway Calendar

 

The 2012 Talyllyn Railway Calendar comprises twelve 17cm x 12cm colour pictures of the Railway in the various seasons and features steam trains engines in different locations. The calendar is spirally bound and hangs with the picture above the calendar for the month. The calendar is in diary format with space for notes. The calendar comes complete with envelope.

Talyllyn Railway- Sixty Years of the First Preserved Railway

This souvenir booklet encapsulates the history of the past sixty years over sixteen pages, with 38 photos both in colour and black and white, some of which have not been seen before. It also contains an historical map of the line highlighting various features and events. All of which are printed on high quality gloss paper in an A5 booklet format.

The Talyllyn Railway - Sixty Years of Preservation

A new book, published by Silver Link, shows the activities on the TR over the last sixty years. About 250 pictures show the work involved in preserving the TR since 1951. The pictures are orientated to work activities rather than trains in action. Most of the major activities are covered - The Slip, Building the Extension, Rebuilding Wharf, twice,Building Tom Rolt and finally the new boiler on Dolgoch.

Carriages & Wagons of the Talyllyn Railway

The Narrow Gauge Railway Society has published a book detailing the history of all the current carriages and wagons on the railway. Most are illustrated, many in colour. The mobile engineering plant is also covered as are the museum wagons.
This book fills a long felt need, particularly for data on the wagons. The book is 17cm x 23.3cm with 64 pages including soft covers.

Talyllyn Revived - Alan Holmes

Talyllyn Revived by Alan Holmes tells the story of the Talyllyn Railway during the preservation era. It complements Chronicles of Pendre Sidings and deals with the administrative and operational aspects of the TR/TRPS rather than the engineering side.

2011 Christmas Cards

Two different designs are available. Both are ‘picturesque photographs of snow scenes, one showing No.4, Edwrad Thomas, on Ty Mawr bank and the other showing No. 7, Tom Rolt, in the woods leaving Dolgoch. The cards are 175mm x 120mm and are bilingual, reading ‘Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year’ in Welsh and English.

The Talyllyn Railway in Colour, R.J. Morland

 

Come for a ride on the Talyllyn Railway the first railway in the world to be taken over and run by volunteers. Join a train hauled by steam locomotives built in the 1860s and travel up the beautiful Fathew Valley from the terminus in Tywyn, close to the Cardigan Bay coast, to Nant Gwernol which nestles in a narrow ravine seven miles inland.
