Testimonials

The following are extracts from the results of our 2008 passenger survey, in response to the question "How do you think we could improve your visit?".

Enjoyed our trip. We have two little children so found the stops helpful and also just right for time.

No complaints at all. Keep it how it is, it's wonderful.

It has been one of the best steam train visits I've made  — friendly staff who take time + deliver with enthusiasm information on the railway.

You can't — service for disabled excellent thank you.

A lovely railway! Perhaps a photo stop along the way! History and nostalgia your key!

An excellent visit with good value for money and excellent service at all points.

It's wonderful the way it is but more whistle blowing please!

I don't think you can improve, we all had a wonderful day.

Excellent all round, very helpful to our disabled son.

You are not able to, as I think you do it to the highest standard already!

No! We had a fantastic day out. It made our son's holiday! Friendly staff made the experience even better. Thank you.

 Other comments received:

Sir,

I had the great pleasure of bring my family of three children to your Duncan Day last week.  My children are aged 8, 5 and 18 month all of them had a wonderful day the younger two particularly loved the playground and the activities.

My wife was appreciative of the friendly atmosphere of the railway and the real value every member of staff with whom we came into contact placed on helping her as a mum with three children have a super day.   I think what really struck me was the fact that having paid for the tickets there were no hidden extras, no effort to fleece you at all.

We both came away very impressed with a sense of value for money and, having three very content children - all in all this was an excellent event, well organised, well delivered.  I have recently read Mr Rolts book on the early days of the railway I believe the volunteers of 2009 have kept alive the spirit of the early founders of the current railway - well done all round.  Please if you have a news letter for volunteers ensure they know they made our children's holiday special this year.

A family from Sheffield, Sept. 2009
