Collection and raffles

The collection during the meeting raised over ?500 for the Golden Jubilee Appeal, whilst two raffles raised smaller but useful sums towards the Edward Thomas boiler fund.

This is just a summary of the elections and so on. Apart from the usual commercials, other business was scarce and the meeting finished very early. The full minutes of the Annual General Meeting in draft form will be published here by about 20/10/2000. If any member of the Society has specific queries or corrections please email me and I will do my best to deal with them.

The weather stayed fine on the Saturday and was dry but overcast and chilly on Sunday.

The evening entertainment went off very well with an organ recital, some historic films, the final episode of Phil Higginson's epic sequence of plays, various other humorous items and a performance from local band Backtracks.
