T.R.P.S. Annual General Meeting 2002 - Summary

The Annual General Meeting took place in Neuadd Pendre (formerly the Drill Hall), Tywyn on Saturday afternoon, 28th. September, 2002. The chair was taken by the President, Christopher Awdry. The major items of business were:

Election of President

Christopher Awdry was re-elected as President.

Election of Vice-Presidents

The following were elected as Vice-Presidents:
John Bate, James Boyd, Pat Garland, Richard Hope, Dai Jones, Winston McCanna, Major Peter Olver, Sonia Rolt, John Slater, Roy Smith, Don Southgate, and Jeremy Wilkinson.

Appointment of Auditors

Silver and Company were reappointed as the Society's Auditors.

Election of Honorary Secretary

John Robinson was re-elected.

Election of Council Members.

219 ballot papers were submitted, of which one was spoilt, and the votes were as follows, the successful candidates being shown in bold:

Traffic and Operating Committee

The T.& O.C. election was uncontested and no announcement was made as the result had already been reported in the Talyllyn News. For the sake of completeness, those elected were:

Locomotive Department

Martin Fuller, Bill Heynes, Chris Price and Andrew Young.

Traffic Department

John Burton, Walter Crowe, Rob Plumridge and Alistair Ribbands.

Young Members' Committee

The results of the election to the Y.M.G. Committee were reported as follows (successful candidates in bold):

Collection

The collection and raffle during the meeting raised about ?655 for the Locomotive 4 Boiler Fund.

This is just a summary of the elections and so on. Apart from the usual commercials, other business was scarce and the meeting finished quite early. The full minutes of the Annual General Meeting in draft form will be published here by about 22/10/2002. If any member of the Society has specific queries or corrections please email me and I will do my best to deal with them.
