In the evening Messrs. Keith Foster, Lawrence Garvey, Mike Green, Gareth Jones and Paul Shuttleworthhad their beards removed in aid of the Wharf Redevelopment Fund. Sponsorship for this event totalled well over £1,500.An impromtu offer by Philip Mason to deprive his father of his moustache raised a further £180, and prompted some unpaternal words from Peter.

The weather was sunny and warm.
