Admin login | Printable version The Annual General Meeting took place in Neuadd Pendre (formerly the Drill Hall),Tywyn on Saturday afternoon, 27th. September, 2003. The chair was taken by the President, Christopher Awdry. The major items of business were: Election of PresidentChristopher Awdry was re-elected as President.Election of Vice-PresidentsThe following were elected as Vice-Presidents:John Bate,James Boyd,Pat Garland,Alan Holmes,Richard Hope,Dai Jones,Winston McCanna,Major Peter Olver,Sonia Rolt,John Slater,Roy Smith,Don Southgate,Jeremy Wilkinsonand Maurice Wilson. Appointment of AuditorsSilver and Company were reappointed as the Society's Auditors.Election of Honorary TreasurerColin Roobottom was re-elected.Election of Council Members202 ballot papers were submitted, of which one was spoilt and one was void,and the votes were as follows,the successful candidates being shown in bold:
Traffic and Operating CommitteeThe results of the election to T.O.C. were reported as follows(successful candidates in bold):Locomotive Department
Traffic DepartmentOnly four nominations were received for four places and the following were declared elected:John Burton, Walter Crowe, Rob Plumridge and Alistair Ribbands.Young Members' CommitteeThe results of the election to the Y.M.G. Committee were reported as follows(successful candidates in bold):
CollectionA collection was held during the meeting in aid of the Wharf Redevelopment Fundand raised £763 (including assumed tax reclaim on donations under gift-aid).This is just a summary of the elections and so on.Apart from the usual commercials, other business was scarce,although Mike Davies raised a couple of points,and the meeting finished at 1648. Keith Foster, Lawrence Garvey, Mike Green, Gareth Jones and Paul Shuttleworthhad their beards removed in aid of the Wharf Redevelopment Fund. Sponsorship for this event totalled well over £1,500.An impromtu offer by Philip Mason to deprive his father of his moustache raised a further £180, and prompted some unpaternal words from Peter.
