Llechfan Rules

Admin login | Printable version

Management: The rules assume Llechfan will be run by a council subcommittee which will appoint an honorary warden (ideally a volunteer position) who should be a local member. The warden may, in turn, delegate to a 'duty warden' (a responsible Llechfan resident).

Arrival: On arrival report to the warden. Rent of £2.50 unwaged (£4.00 waged) per night to be paid in advance - receipt to be issued. Anyone staying in Llechfan and not working at least 50% of the time on the railway will be subject to a 100% surcharge.

Bed Linen: All residents must bring a sleeping bag and a pillow case. These must be taken home at the end of each stay. A limited number of sleeping bags and pillow cases will be kept for use in emergencies ONLY at a charge of £10 per week or part thereof.

Pets: Not permitted at any time.

Overalls and Working Boots: No dirty boots or overalls to be in any part of Llechfan AT ANY TIME. Boots and overalls should be kept either in the washing shed or left a Pendre. Hands must be properly washed before entering.

Smoking: Not permitted at any time.

Alcohol: Alcohol must not be consumed on the premises without the permission of the warden.

Illegal Substances: No illegal substances are permitted at any time.

Under 16's are not to be on Llechfan premises unless they are residents and have a signed current parental permission form.

Non-Residents: Non-residents are NOT permitted on the premises between 12 midnight and 8am. Residents will be held responsible for their guests.

Parties: Not permitted, except with express permission of the warden.

Noise: Noise levels should be kept to a minimum between the hours of 12 midnight and 8.30am. Excessive volumes not permitted at anytime. All residents must be considerate of their fellow residents.

Car Parking: Cars may be parked on Wharf Station site overnight. When trains are running cars must be moved from Wharf to allow operating staff to park.

Damages: All breakages etc, to be reported to the warden who shall determine the charge to be made.

Health and Safety: No unauthorised forms of cooking and/or heating are to be used. All personal electrical items MUST be PAT tested before use. Self closing fire doors must NEVER be wedged open and fire escapes must not be obstructed. All residents must make themselves aware of evacuation procedures in case of emergency.

Cleaning: All residents are equally responsible for washing up and keeping the hostel in a clean and respectable state.

Respect for Others: All residents are expected to treat other residents with respect and consideration. Those who fail to do so, or interfere with other residents' quiet enjoyment of their accommodation will have their booking refused in future. Anyone guilty of tampering with other peoples property will be required to leave Llechfan immediately.

Inspections: Spot checks will be made regularly and without prior notice by the warden and Llechfan group.

The Warden: The Warden's decision is final. The only redress available to aggrieved residents is to complain to the Llechfan Group or Managing Director (within one month of the incident complained about). The Llechfan Group will, if need be, implement the T. R. Co's disciplinary procedure.

Action will be taken against residents who fail to comply with these rules.
