The annual Drivers' Meeting took place on 23rd. November, 1997; of 18 drivers and 7 passed firemen who had driven steam-hauled passenger trains during 1997, 21 were present and the remaining 4 had submitted written comments. The meeting commenced at 0932 and closed at 1658 with breaks for coffee in the morning, lunch (one hour) at midday and tea in the afternoon.

Driver training will follow the same form as in 1997. The following are to be allowed to book an extra week's firing and drivers are to be encouraged to give them training.
