The annual Drivers' Meeting took place on 22nd. November, 1998; of 18 drivers and 8 passed firemen who had driven steam-hauled passenger trains during 1998, 22 were present and 2 more had submitted written comments. The meeting commenced at 0933 and closed at 1623 with breaks for coffee in the morning and lunch (one hour) at midday.

Driver training will follow the same form as in 1998. The following are to be allowed to book an extra week's firing and drivers are to be encouraged to give them training.

Please note that the numbers of trips shown is calculated from the information recorded by guards on their journals as transferred to the Traffic Office computer. In addition to the usual inaccuracies, some apparent distortions have been introduced by the large number of low-mileage trips operated during the special services at the May Day Bank Holiday and A.G.M. weekend.
