As part of the launch of The 75 Appeal we are holding a special one day mini-gala on Saturday 4th May. We will be running some special trains where members get priority bookings and, all being well, an opportunity to see No.1 ‘Talyllyn’ fresh from overhaul in her new striking Great Eastern Railway inspired blue livery.
Highlights of the day include:
• Early morning photographic charter with No.1 ‘Talyllyn’ on the original carriages, with an opportunity to alight at Ty Dwr to see No.1 water there for the first time since the 1940s!
• No.2 ‘Dolgoch’ will take the original carriages up the line for a round trip, but with the added bonus of taking water from the re-creation of Ty Dwr for the very first time.
• To round off the day, No.1 and No.2 will double head a special train – a great chance to see both locomotives working together for the first time since 2018.
We are also planing other activities to take place during the day, including some fun money raising events. Details to follow.
Across the Railway there will be information available about the Redevelopment Project and The 75 Appeal with facilities available to sign up to The 75 Club.
You will also be able to purchase special 75 Appeal merchandise including the limited edition print of No.2 at Ty Dwr by renowned Railway artist, Eric Bottomley.
Sample print only – actual prints do not include 75 Appeal logo
