Our annual weekend where anything – and everything – can happen returns. Join us for two days of trains large and small as all our operational locomotives come out to play and the Llechfan Garden Railway throws open its (shed) doors.

With quirky carriage formations, bizarre freight workings and our ever-popular locomotive cavalcades there’s something for everyone – and did we mention the Beer Festival?

Trains will be operating to an intensive timetable with evening trains on July 1, so take it easy by alighting at one of our stations for a walk or enjoy a tea break at Abergynolwyn and watch the trains pass by. Steam, diesel and double headed services will run each day, with plenty of interesting formations to sample.

Furthermore, our quaint and curious engineering machines will also be out on show.

At Wharf station, the Llechfan Garden Railway, normally only accessible by volunteers and invited guests, will be open for all to come a watch. Members from the ‘Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers’ are invited to bring along their own models to operate on the two circuits alongside resident volunteers (though we may need to restrict operating times if a large number of guests turn up!) There’ll also be a small number of trade stalls with models for sale to tempt you with.

And if that wasn’t enough to tempt you, subject to sufficient volunteers and locomotives being available a 5inch gauge miniature railway will also be offering rides along a short length of temporary track. If you have your own miniature locomotive and would like to bring it along to either operate or put on static display, we’d love to hear from you, especially if it is a TR locomotive – in 2022 we had a 5inch gauge Dolgoch travel aboard our freight train all the way to Nant Gwernol!
