Nant Gwernol, situated in a natural ravine, is the eastern terminus of the railway and has NO ROAD ACCESS. Access to the station is via the forest walk from Abergynolwyn station or the footpath from the car park in Abergynolwyn village, both of which are unsuitable for the elderly or people with disabilities.
Nant Gwernol is the starting point for walks which enable visitors to explore unspoilt woodland and mountain waterfalls and see something of the former slate mining activities in the area, returning to either Nant Gwernol or Abergynolwyn Stations. Click here to find out more about the Nant Gwernol Trails. All walks are well signposted. There is also a circular walk via Castell y Bere and Llanfihangel y Pennant – click here to go to our Walks and Waterfalls page.
There are no station facilities at Nant Gwernol apart from the covered station building and a couple of picnic tables.
