Take your pick: a gentle cycle on the flat or more challenging mountain routes

Cycle Carriages
Each train has one carriage designed to carry cycles. There is space for 2-6 bikes per train but wheelchairs take priority. Please call 01654 710472 to book cycles onto the train at least 24 hours before departure.

Cycle Routes Around Tywyn
Tywyn is situated on National Cycle Route 82 running from Machynlleth via Tywyn to Dolgellau. There is a traffic free cycle path linking Tywyn with Bryncrug which allows you to access quiet lanes to explore further along the Dysinni Valley to Castell y Bere, Llanfihangel y Pennant and Abergynolwyn.  Click here to find out more about Route 82.

The Cader Idris Trail
The Cader Idris Trail is a mountain bike route of 15.5 miles (25km) which takes you to the summit of Cader Idris, an 893m mountain near Abergynolwyn on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park. It is a big mountain with a good variety of trails including double track, grassy trails, single-track and a final 1.5 miles of boulder-strewn trail at the top. While there is some hike-a-biking, the mountain is mostly ridable, if you have the legs for it.  Click here to find out more about the Cader Idris Trail.
