The Talyllyn Railway is returning to our standard service.
The safety of our passengers, volunteers, staff, neighbours, and the surrounding environment remains our highest priority. We are taking every reasonable precaution to mitigate the risk of fire during the current conditions.
As part of these measures, every steam service will be followed by a dedicated Fire Protection Train, which will monitor the line and respond immediately to any signs of fire, hence taking the pressure off the fire brigade should such an incident occur. In addition, we are carrying out daily risk assessments, taking into account the latest weather forecasts, ground conditions, and operational factors. Our services will continue to be reviewed on a day-to-day basis, and we will adapt our operations if conditions change.
We would like to thank our passengers, volunteers, and local communities for their understanding and support. By taking a cautious and measured approach, we are able to resume steam operations while maintaining our commitment to safety and protecting the beautiful environment through which our railway runs.
