New Year’s Day Special!
January 1 All day
Kicking off 75 Years of the World’s First Preserved Railway in style!

In 2026 we celebrate 75 years since the Talyllyn Railway was preserved by a group of intrepid volunteers, marking it in history as the World’s First Preserved Railway and kicking off the global Heritage Railway Movement.
We’re going to be celebrating all year round, and to kick things off we have a special train on New Year’s Day!
No.4 ‘Edward Thomas’ will haul the vintage train, made up of our original 1860s carriages, with photographic stops at Rhydyronen and Dolgoch – where water will be taken from the original slate water column.
And the best thing is – NORMAL FARES APPLY!
