Is this the railway that goes up Snowdon?

No. Whilst the Talyllyn Railway travels through the Snowdonia National Park we do not go to the top of Snowdon.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at Tywyn Wharf station (LL36 0TF) where there is currently a free car and coach park. We have a small free car park at Abergynolwyn station (LL36 9UR). There are Council pay & display parking facilities at Dolgoch station.

Are dogs allowed on your trains?

Dogs are welcome in the 3rd Class portions of our trains. A standard fare of £4.00 per dog applies. We regret that dogs (except assistance dogs) are not allowed in 1st class. Guide/Assistance dogs travel free of charge and are welcome in all our station buildings and carriages.

Can I buy my Tickets in Advance?

Yes you can but it is not compulsory.  Third Class tickets can be booked online. You need to decide the date and time of train. Please print out your booking confirmation and show this to the guard when asked.

Please note this does not book you into a specific seat so you will need to arrive in plenty of time to choose your seat and carriage.

First class tickets are available for an upgrade payable to the Guard for £2.00 per person per Single Journey.

Are there toilets on the train?

There are no toilet facilities on our trains. Accessible toilets can be found at our Tywyn Wharf and Abergynolwyn stations. There are toilets at our Dolgoch station too.

Can I break my journey?

Yes. Any of our standard single and return tickets allow you to break your journey at intermediate stations if there are later services in the timetable to allow you to complete your journey.

Are single fares available?

Yes. Single fares are available between any station. Please contact our Booking Offices for details of fares.

Can I reserve a seat?

There are no seat reservations available although wheelchair spaces can be reserved, please Contact Us to reserve a wheelchair space.

What about my mobility scooter?

We regret that due to space constraints we are unable to accommodate mobility scooters on any of our trains.
