Over the weekend of 16/17 November 2018, a couple of work gangs took advantage of the lovely weather to tidy up parts of the railway and start the hedgelaying work for this winter.

One gang of mainly younger volunteers completed strimming between Rhydyronen and Brynglas, plus leaf blowing (using the new leaf blowers) from Wharf to Pendre and on Dolgoch and Abergynolwyn stations. It helps keep the railway tidy and stops the drainage channels getting blocked by leaf mulch.

Above Brynglas, the hedgelaying team identified a suitable length of mixed hedge to begin work on. During the weekend the gang (around 11 each day) managed to thin out and lay 70m of hedge, plus get rid of the waste branches. The plan is to continue work on this bit of hedge over the winter, opening up more views across the valley ready for the start of the next season.

Thanks as always to everyone who came along to help.
