The Talyllyn logo was inspired by this iconic photograph of Loco No. 1, ‘Talyllyn’ on Dolgoch Viaduct in 1867. It is evocative of the pleasure of steaming through the beautiful Welsh countryside; through woodlands, dappled sunshine, and over this wonderful viaduct high above the tumbling waters of Nant Dolgoch and Rhaeadr Dolgoch Falls. Of course, as it is Wales, sometimes it is raining and the woodland is dripping and wet – but it is still beautiful!
The logo was originally designed for the Talyllyn Railway’s 150th anniversary in 2015 and it proved so popular that it was adopted as the marketing logo; it appears on branded items, posters, leaflets, and all kinds of things that tell the World about the Talyllyn Railway.
