Monday 20 August 2018 was the 70th Anniversary of the last train on the original Corris Railway.

To mark the occasion we are launching a fund for the restoration of the only operable original carriage from that Railway, our own carriage No.17, which is in need of a rebuild after its near 60 year service on the Talyllyn.

It was on display at Tywyn Wharf station along with Corris van 6 for the day before being moved to Pendre in preparation for the restoration work to begin. This is planned to take place in Tywyn but away from Pendre works.

The full extent of the work required will not be known until the panelling is removed but we are anticipating a restoration cost of the order of £20,000 including labour.

Therefore we are launching the Corris Coach Rebuilding Fund today to help raise the necessary funds. If you would like to know more then you can go to:
